Company History

SIPCO was formed in 1982 as a joint venture between Saudi investors and Akzo Nobel of Holland to manufacture a range of Protective Coatings, Decorative Paints, Industrial Finishes, Sealants and Adhesives. Akzo Nobel are the largest producers of paint, coatings and chemicals in the world and through its association with them SIPCO has benefited greatly from technology and product development and the skills and expertise of the AKZO management.

During its formative years SIPCO also built close relationships with ICI-Devoe Coatings of U.S.A., culminating in licensing agreements to manufacture specialised products for the Protective Coatings market, and in particular for ARAMCO, for which the company has approval for most of its product range.

The confidence of the company’s Shareholders is reflected in the very high degree of investment in SIPCO to build on the level of excellence established with Akzo-Nobel and ICI- Devoe, and so grow the company’s penetration of its markets.

SIPCO now has in place a very experienced team of managers, technicians and chemists. It has a greatly enlarged factory and warehousing facility, incorporating a new automated production plant, supported by high technology quality control, research and development laboratories.

SIPCO, built on a sound, solid foundation, remains firm in its resolve, to be constantly at the forefront of the industry, and the technical innovations therein.
